Question by roxie 3: What was your favorite pregnancy book and why?
I have a favorite pregnancy book, it is called The girlfriends guide to pregnancy. I like it because of the humor. There is no better time to laugh than during a pregnancy that leaves you feeling……..well pregnant! LOL…….I like reading what to Expect When You are Expecting because it is very informative. | Beginning with the "10 Greatest Lies About Pregnancy" (number 10: Lamaze works), and ending with postpartum dementia, Vicki Iovine's Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy has fast become the laywoman's mouthpiece for the American pregnancy experience. Iovine is irreverent, sassy, and incredibly reassuring as she exposes the "truths" of pregnancy and childbirth, from sex to cellulite to cesareans. Iovine birthed four kids in six years, none of them twins, which certainly qualifies her as an expert. The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy does reveal Iovine's particular cultural biases (pregnant or not, most of us don't have record-producer husbands, hang out with supermodels, or wear size-four pants) and philosophical beliefs (she's not a particularly strong proponent of natural childbirth or nursing), but, taken with a grain or two of salt, she provides many hilarious moments, acres of advice, and honest reassurance readers will find nowhere else. --Ericka Lutz |

I like Pregnancy Week by Week because it tells you what your baby looks like every week and what to expect certain weeks. I like What to Expect, but I like the Week by Week format better than the Month to Month format.
Belly Laughs by Jenny McCartney. That girl is hilarious and she touches on everything! She also wrote Baby Laughs (I think that’s what it’s called) after her baby was born.
Informative-what to expect when expecting
humor-Belly Laughs (it’s a must read)
My favourite book is one I definately recommend you read. It is also very informative and very funny. I refer to it all the time. It’s called ‘Kidwrangling’ by Kaz Cook.
“The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy” is definitely my favorite! I found myself laughing out loud a lot because she was so right about so many of the pregnancy issues. I also just bought my fiance the book “What to Expect When Your Wife is Expanding” It’s kind of a parody on the “What to Expect” books. It’s pretty funny, a good buy for your hubby if you can find it!
What to Expect When are You Are Expecting- 4th edition. It answered so many question that I would have had and had neat illustrations. It also had a week by week format on what is going on with you and the baby. Also, the book had information on foods to eat, what kinds of exercises are safe, all the info a pregnant mom, and dad to be, would need to know about pregnancy.
i would have to say what to expect when your expecting it tells you everything that you need to know and its like the perfect book for the pregnant woman its awesome it has everything in it what to pack to take to the hospital how to time contractions what meds you can take what foods are good to eat what signs for you to go to the hospital are its really good
The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy was my favorite. It broke things down in realistic terms and from a BTDT point of view. It was funny and not so bland as What to Expect…. However the WTEWE book was informative for the stupid little things and was more a reference book for me thoughout my pregnancy. I also got the WTE The First Year book as well.
My favorite is the Mayo Clinic guide to a Helathy Pregnancy
-Mom and baby month by month
-In-depth decision guides
-Easy to use reference section
It explained everything clearly and easily. It also had alot of information on After Pregnancy. Very informative!
